This and that

My Hero is so good to me. He drives a delivery truck and one of his regular customers gave him some strawberry plants. I asked him to dig the hole for me so I could plant them and we talked about where we wanted to do that.

He always gets up before me because he likes his quiet time in the morning. This morning when I got up, not only had he dug the hole for me, he had already put the plants in. What a wonderful man!

I still have a few other plants to put in around my yard but I'm not sure I will get to that today and we are expecting rain in the next 24 hours so we will see.

Her surgery was a success!

My granddaughter had her surgery and did great. There was a slight blockage of her intestinal tract causing her to vomit and now she should do just fine. Praise the Lord!

Emma's surgery

My 6-week-old granddaughter is having surgery for pyloric stenosis in one hour. If you read this, could you please pray for her and for her parents? Thanks. (After this surgery, she should be fine.)

I did have a desk!!

Ahhhhh!!! It is now clean and I like sitting here again. To my shame, I found class notes from last spring amongst the mess. Yikes!

My Sugarsnap Pea

My precious little granddaughter who has my heart wrapped around her little finger, though we've never touched is having some health problems. She can't keep anything down — not breastmilk, not formula, not even pedialyte. To find out what is wrong, they have her in the hospital to run some tests. She is also on an IV in order to rehydrate her.

This is my Sugarsnap Pea:

She will be six weeks old on the 15th. My heart is physically aching to be there with her and my daughter and to see them through this. For now, I have to trust my Jesus to be there for me. (I know that is enough, but if you are a grandmother, you understand.)

I know my computer is here somewhere!

Wow!!! I need to clean my desk! If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, I must be lost in my thoughts!

My first day went great

In July of 1988, I left my last day on the job at the last "regular" job I worked. That was 20 years ago. For seven years, I worked as the paid secretary at the church my husband pastored but I never felt like it was a job. I enjoyed the work and I was serving my husband. However, the position did keep my skills honed. I had to use various software to administrate the church records and people skills are key in a church job.

Yesterday, I walked back into a "regular" job — sort of. It is a temporary position in an office. And you know what? I had a great time! There was nothing that seemed beyond the skills I've maintained over the past 20 years. The people were great and it was a great experience.

I fretted for no reason.

I need to remember: "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
